Privacy policy
This policy explains what information DevToolWorld (devtoolworld.com, "we", "the site") collects, why, and the choices you have. The site is run by Sarbjit Singh, who is the data controller for the purposes of data protection law. Contact: [email protected].
Summary
- Your tool input never leaves your browser. Text, files and tokens you enter into the tools are processed locally and are not collected, stored or sent to us.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used.
- The site may show ads served by Google AdSense, which can use cookies to personalise ads.
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are only used after you agree. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
Data processed in your browser (not collected)
All tools run as JavaScript on your device. What you type, paste or open, including JSON, YAML, SQL, JWTs, secrets, files and URLs, is processed in your browser tab and discarded when you close it. It is not uploaded to DevToolWorld, not logged, and not passed to analytics or advertising providers. Files you open are read with your browser's File API and are never uploaded.
One exception you control: when you click Send in the API Request Builder, your browser sends the request you built, including its headers and body, directly to the address you entered. That request does not go through DevToolWorld. The receiving server's own privacy practices apply.
Information that is collected
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC (Google Ireland Limited for users in the EEA and Switzerland), to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and approximate location (country or city), device, browser and screen size. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. It sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_<ID> to distinguish visitors, which last up to two years. We do not send tool input or any information that identifies you by name to Google Analytics.
See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can block Google Analytics on all websites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
When ads are shown on this site, they are served by Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. In the EU you can also use Your Online Choices.
- Other ad vendors or ad networks may also serve ads on the site through Google's ad technology. Google publishes the list of ad technology providers that it works with, and you can manage their cookies through the same settings.
If you opt out of personalised ads, you may still see ads, but they will be based on the content of the page rather than your browsing history. Google's advertising policies explain how it uses advertising cookies.
Server logs
Like most websites, the servers that deliver these pages may automatically record standard request information, such as IP address, the page requested, date and time, browser user agent and referring page. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure, for example to investigate errors or abuse, and are kept only for a limited time.
Fonts
The site's typefaces (Geist, Geist Mono and Source Serif 4) are served from devtoolworld.com itself. Your browser does not contact Google Fonts or any other font service when you visit.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to fix the issue you report, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

Your rights under GDPR (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
We process personal data on these legal bases: your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, which you can withdraw at any time through Cookie settings, and our legitimate interest in operating a secure, working website, for server logs and replying to your emails.
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Because tool input is never collected, we hold very little data that can be linked to you. Analytics and advertising data is held by Google, and you can manage it through the Google links above.
Google may process data in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions, and also uses standard contractual clauses for these transfers.
Your rights under CCPA/CPRA (California)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing". We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies that personalise ads across websites may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law. You can opt out by rejecting cookies in Cookie settings, by using Global Privacy Control, or through Google Ads Settings. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. To make a request, email [email protected].
Children
DevToolWorld is a site for software developers and is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 in the EEA. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Third-party links
Tool pages and guides link to other websites, such as documentation and standards. Their privacy practices are their own; please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, for example when advertising goes live or a new service is added, and change the "Last updated" date above.
