How long should the title and description be?
Google cuts titles at about 600 pixels, which is roughly 50 to 60 characters. Descriptions are cut at about 155 to 160 characters. Put the most important words first.
Does the keywords meta tag help SEO?
Not for Google, which has ignored it since 2009. Some smaller search engines and internal site search tools still read it, so it is optional.
Does Google always use my description?
No. Google often writes its own snippet from the page content if it matches the search better. A clear, accurate description makes it more likely yours is used.
