How are differences found?
The tool finds the longest run of lines the two texts share and marks everything else as added or removed. When a removed line is directly replaced by an added one, the changed words inside it are highlighted.
What does "Ignore whitespace" do?
It treats lines as equal when they only differ in indentation, trailing spaces or the number of spaces between words. This is useful when a file was re-indented.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The comparison runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
